The average baby food export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, shrinking by -10.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 17%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then declined in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, imports of food preparations for infants into Spain contracted to X tons, which is down by -6.9% on the previous year. In general, imports showed a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

The third position in this ranking was taken by Poland (X tons), with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from France totaled +7.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-5.2% per year) and Poland (+49.7% per year).
In value terms, France ($X), Germany ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) constituted the largest baby food suppliers to Spain, together accounting for 69% of total imports. These countries were followed by Denmark, Poland, Ireland and Portugal, which together accounted for a further 27%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +55.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
