France (X tons) was the main destination for chicken egg exports from Spain, with a 37% share of total exports. Moreover, chicken egg exports to France exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Netherlands (X tons), threefold. In general, export price indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last decade. In 2022, supplies from abroad of chicken eggs increased by 52% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, imports showed a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 125%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
In value terms, chicken egg imports expanded remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +63.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 78%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

France (X tons), Portugal (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of chicken egg imports to Spain, with a combined 79% share of total imports. Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 17%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Belgium (with a CAGR of +44.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
