The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X units in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, non-combined refrigerator-freezer exports reached $X in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +34.0% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 36%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Portugal (X units), France (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main destinations of non-combined refrigerator-freezer exports from Spain, with a combined 41% share of total exports. China, Morocco, Sweden, Italy, Austria, the Netherlands, Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 41%.

Imports peaked at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-combined refrigerator-freezer imports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 24%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
