Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, fungicide and bactericide exports expanded rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 11%. The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Germany (X tons), France (X tons) and Portugal (X tons) were the main destinations of fungicide and bactericide exports from Spain, together comprising 29% of total exports. These countries were followed by Brazil, Turkey, Poland, Greece, China, Indonesia, the UK, Italy, Morocco and Algeria, which together accounted for a further 37%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Indonesia (with a CAGR of +38.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for fungicide and bactericide exported from Spain were Germany ($X), Brazil ($X) and Poland ($X), together comprising 29% of total exports. France, Turkey, Portugal, China, the UK, Greece, Italy, Algeria, Indonesia and Morocco lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.
Among the main countries of destination, Indonesia, with a CAGR of +13.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, fungicide and bactericide imports into Spain shrank slightly to X tons, waning by -3.1% against the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 39% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, fungicide and bactericide imports rose to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 7.5%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

France (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of fungicide and bactericide imports to Spain, together accounting for 55% of total imports.
