The UK (X units), Vietnam (X units) and Chile (X units) were the main destinations of lifting equipment exports from Spain, together comprising 55% of total exports. Russia, Peru, Germany and Japan lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 27%.

In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 127% against the previous year. In value terms, lifting equipment imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 172%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of lifting equipment to Spain, with a 65% share of total imports. Moreover, lifting equipment imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Slovenia (X units), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Ireland (X units), with a 4.7% share.
