France (X tons), Morocco (X tons) and Mauritania (X tons) were the main destinations of fishing rod exports from Spain, with a combined 56% share of total exports. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 42%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, fishing rod imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
