France (X tons), Portugal (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) were the main destinations of non-wheat flour exports from Spain, together accounting for 80% of total exports.

In general, imports, however, recorded a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 100%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then shrank sharply in the following year.

In value terms, non-wheat flour imports amounted to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +72.3% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 67% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

France (X tons), Portugal (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of non-wheat flour imports to Spain, with a combined 82% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Italy (with a CAGR of +26.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Italy ($X), Portugal ($X) and France ($X) appeared to be the largest non-wheat flour suppliers to Spain, together accounting for 68% of total imports.
