In 2022, after eight years of growth, there was significant decline in the Spanish plastic doors and windows market, when its value decreased by -20.7% to $X. In general, consumption, however, recorded a remarkable increase. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

After eight years of growth, purchases abroad of plastic doors, windows and their frames decreased by -3.3% to X units in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 49%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, plastic doors and windows imports amounted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 33%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Turkey (X units), Poland (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main suppliers of plastic doors and windows imports to Spain, together comprising 64% of total imports. Ukraine, Portugal, Germany and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.
