From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to the United States amounted to +150.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+46.6% per year) and Portugal (+41.5% per year).

In 2021, the average quinoa export price amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -21.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 45% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, purchases abroad of quinoa decreased by -16.8% to X tons, falling for the fourth consecutive year after six years of growth. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed significant growth. Imports by Country
Peru (X tons), Bolivia (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main suppliers of quinoa imports to Spain, together accounting for 87% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Peru (with a CAGR of +70.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Peru ($X), Bolivia ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) were the largest quinoa suppliers to Spain, with a combined 83% share of total imports.
