In value terms, recovered fibre pulp exports plummeted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a dramatic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. France (X tons) was the main destination for recovered fibre pulp exports from Spain, accounting for a 41% share of total exports. The average recovered fibre pulp export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -16.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a prominent expansion. Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+22.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Spain
After three years of decline, supplies from abroad of recovered fibre pulp increased by less than 0.1% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 228%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, recovered fibre pulp imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 150%. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, France (X tons) constituted the largest recovered fibre pulp supplier to Spain, accounting for a 52% share of total imports. Moreover, recovered fibre pulp imports from France exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Portugal (X tons), threefold. Italy (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 15% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from France amounted to +99.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Portugal (+25.6% per year) and Italy (+13.1% per year).
In value terms, France ($X), Italy ($X) and Portugal ($X) were the largest recovered fibre pulp suppliers to Spain, with a combined 82% share of total imports.
France, with a CAGR of +69.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average recovered fibre pulp import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 42% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, recovered fibre pulp import price increased by +122.8% against 2018 indices.
