France (X tons), the UK (X tons) and Portugal (X tons) were the main destinations of sheep and goat meat exports from Spain, together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Bahrain, Oman, Belgium, Italy, Japan and Saudi Arabia, which together accounted for a further X 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Bahrain (with a CAGR of +X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, imports continue to indicate a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by X%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, sheep and goat meat imports fell notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year.
