The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +32.9% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

France (X tons), Portugal (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of turkey meat exports from Spain, with a combined 53% share of total exports. Benin, Germany, Denmark, Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Netherlands, Poland and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Germany (with a CAGR of +74.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for turkey meat exported from Spain were Portugal ($X), France ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 66% share of total exports. In 2022, the average turkey meat export price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 27% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, total imports indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -32.7% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, turkey meat imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 35%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Poland (X tons) constituted the largest turkey meat supplier to Spain, accounting for a 62% share of total imports. Moreover, turkey meat imports from Poland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by France (X tons), with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Poland totaled +12.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+10.6% per year) and France (-11.5% per year).
In value terms, Poland ($X) constituted the largest supplier of turkey meat to Spain, comprising 70% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 4.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Poland stood at +13.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+9.3% per year) and the Netherlands (+4.8% per year).

In 2022, the average turkey meat import price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 37% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.5%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
