In value terms, acyclic hydrocarbons imports dropped slightly to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2009 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at $X in 2019, and then shrank in the following year.

In 2020, Singapore (X tons) constituted the largest acyclic hydrocarbons supplier to Sri Lanka, accounting for a X% share of total imports. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was India ($X per ton), while the price for Romania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
