Singapore (X tons) was the main destination for aromatic polyamines exports from Sri Lanka, with a 98% share of total exports. It was followed by Canada (X kg), with a 1.6% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2016, the average annual growth rate of volume to Singapore was relatively modest.

In value terms, Singapore ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for aromatic polyamines and their derivatives, salts thereof exports from Sri Lanka, comprising 99% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Canada ($X), with a 0.8% share of total exports.

In 2021, purchases abroad of aromatic polyamines and their derivatives, salts thereof increased by 373% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. In general, imports enjoyed a mild expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 405%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, aromatic polyamines imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a remarkable increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

South Korea (X tons), India (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of aromatic polyamines imports to Sri Lanka, with a combined 82% share of total imports. Germany and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 5.3%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Germany (with a CAGR of +16.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
