Overall, exports posted a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 907%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, exports of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with a burst pressure ≥ X MPa soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 624% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The United States (X tons) was the main destination for exports of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with a burst pressure ≥ X MPa from Sri Lanka, accounting for a 95% share of total exports. It was followed by Maldives (X kg), with a 2% share of total exports. Seychelles (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 0.1% share.

In general, imports enjoyed a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 387%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports of failed to regain momentum.

Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 322%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.

Malaysia, Austria, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 13%.
