Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The Netherlands (X tons) was the main destination for industrial fatty alcohols exports from Sri Lanka, accounting for a approx. 100% share of total exports.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 83% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

India (X tons), Singapore (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons) were the main suppliers of industrial fatty alcohols imports to Sri Lanka, with a combined 72% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Singapore (with a CAGR of +37.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, India ($X), Singapore ($X) and the United States ($X) appeared to be the largest industrial fatty alcohols suppliers to Sri Lanka, together comprising 57% of total imports.
