Imports into Sri Lanka

In 2021, approx. X tons of provitamins and vitamins were imported into Sri Lanka; rising by 41% against 2020. Overall, imports enjoyed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 64% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In 2021, the average vitamin import price amounted to $X per ton, declining by -3.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a slight curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 26% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
