The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 425% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

The United Arab Emirates (X tons) was the main destination for raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry exports from Sri Lanka, accounting for a 70% share of total exports. Moreover, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry exports to the United Arab Emirates exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Maldives (X kg), twofold.

In 2022, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry imports into Sri Lanka dropped sharply to X kg, waning by -50% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, imports, however, recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 2,315% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry imports contracted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 1,799%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, the United States (X kg) constituted the largest supplier of raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry to Sri Lanka, with a 73% share of total imports.
