Seat Market Size in Sudan

The Sudanese seat market fell to $X in 2021, dropping by -8.3% against the previous year. In general, consumption, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Seat consumption peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, seat exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a noticeable descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 223% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Rwanda (X tons), Ethiopia (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X kg) were the main destinations of seat exports from Sudan, together comprising 17% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of 0.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, Rwanda ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for seats exports from Sudan, comprising 24% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 12% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Rwanda was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (0.0% per year) and Ethiopia (-28.0% per year).

In 2021, the average seat export price amounted to $X per ton, declining by -84.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 716% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then reduced notably in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Ethiopia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, overseas purchases of seats decreased by -53.9% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 91% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, seat imports fell dramatically to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 90%. Imports peaked at $X in 2020, and then plummeted in the following year.

In 2021, China (X tons) was the main seat supplier to Sudan, accounting for a 100% share of total imports. Moreover, seat imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Saudi Arabia (X tons), with a 3.4% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to -10.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (-3.8% per year) and Saudi Arabia (-12.4% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of seats to Sudan, comprising 100% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 6.4% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China amounted to -11.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (-3.3% per year) and Italy (-1.3% per year).

In 2021, the average seat import price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 26% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 30% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+16.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
