In value terms, unmanufactured tobacco imports dropped remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 1,082% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Kenya (X tons), Zimbabwe (X tons) and Uganda (X tons) were the main suppliers of unmanufactured tobacco imports to Sudan, with a combined 72% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Uganda (with a CAGR of +45.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
