In 2022, the United Arab Emirates (X tons) constituted the largest glass fibre fabrics supplier to Sudan, with a 66% share of total imports. Moreover, glass fibre fabrics imports from the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), fivefold. Turkey (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 10% share.

Among the main suppliers, Turkey, with a CAGR of +14.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline.

Import Prices by Country

The average glass fibre fabrics import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 6.3% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, glass fibre fabrics import price decreased by -6.5% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average import price increased by 27%. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+17.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
