The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -7.1% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 52%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, baby food imports reached $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -2.2% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 46% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Spain (X tons) constituted the largest baby food supplier to Sweden, accounting for a 49% share of total imports. Moreover, baby food imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Portugal (X tons), with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Spain stood at +45.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (+24.1% per year) and Portugal (+70.0% per year).
In value terms, the largest baby food suppliers to Sweden were Spain ($X), France ($X) and Portugal ($X), together comprising 69% of total imports.
Portugal, with a CAGR of +70.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 18%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per ton), while the price for Denmark ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
