In 2022, the Swedish millet market decreased by -1.5% to $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, total imports indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last decade. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 34%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

In 2022, Poland (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of millet to Sweden, accounting for a 56% share of total imports. Moreover, millet imports from Poland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Netherlands (X tons), with a 9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Poland amounted to +42.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+4.1% per year) and the Netherlands (-6.0% per year).
