Over the period under review, total imports indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 91% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 61% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. Poland (X tons), the UK (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of railway track fixture imports to Sweden, together comprising 52% of total imports.
