In 2022, overseas purchases of roundwood (coniferous) were finally on the rise to reach X cubic meters after three years of decline. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 48%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X cubic meters. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, coniferous roundwood imports stood at $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 95%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Norway (X cubic meters) constituted the largest coniferous roundwood supplier to Sweden, accounting for a 68% share of total imports. Moreover, coniferous roundwood imports from Norway exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Finland (X cubic meters), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Latvia (X cubic meters), with a 6.3% share.
