The Swedish soups market shrank slightly to $X in 2021, which is down by -4.6% against the previous year. In general, consumption, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, soups exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable descent. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Norway (X tons), Finland (X tons) and Denmark (X tons) were the main destinations of soups exports from Sweden, together accounting for 68% of total exports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Spain and the UK, which together accounted for a further 24%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Belgium (with a CAGR of +43.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Norway ($X), Finland ($X) and Denmark ($X) were the largest markets for soups exported from Sweden worldwide, with a combined 71% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Belgium and the UK, which together accounted for a further 21%.

In 2021, the average soups export price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 2.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a slight descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 15%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Sweden
In 2021, soups imports into Sweden dropped slightly to X tons, standing approx. at the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 20% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, soups imports contracted modestly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 11%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Denmark (X tons) constituted the largest soups supplier to Sweden, accounting for a 30% share of total imports. Moreover, soups imports from Denmark exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Belgium (X tons), twofold. The Czech Republic (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Denmark totaled +4.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belgium (+5.9% per year) and the Czech Republic (+134.3% per year).
In value terms, the largest soups suppliers to Sweden were Belgium ($X), Denmark ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), together comprising 48% of total imports.
