Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2020, and then dropped notably in the following year.
In value terms, sweet biscuit imports shrank to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +71.0% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2020, and then contracted in the following year.

The Netherlands (X tons), the UK (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of sweet biscuit imports to Sweden, together accounting for 48% of total imports. The Czech Republic, Belgium, Italy, Poland, Denmark, Spain and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 44%.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
