From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Serbia (with a CAGR of +163.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the key foreign market for copper tubes and pipes exports from Switzerland, comprising 37% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Poland amounted to +3.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: France (+3.0% per year) and Germany (-20.7% per year).

In 2021, the average copper tube and pipe export price amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Chile (+40.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Switzerland
In 2021, overseas purchases of copper tubes and pipes were finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. In general, imports, however, recorded a perceptible reduction. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, copper tube and pipe imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a slight reduction. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of copper tube and pipe to Switzerland, accounting for a 67% share of total imports. Moreover, copper tube and pipe imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Austria (X tons), with a 7.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Germany stood at -3.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (-0.3% per year) and Austria (-5.4% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of copper tubes and pipes to Switzerland, comprising 63% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Austria, with a 7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Germany stood at -2.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+1.5% per year) and Austria (-4.1% per year).

Overall, import price indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last nine-year period.
