Germany (X units), France (X units) and China (X units) were the main destinations of electronic chip exports from Switzerland, with a combined 41% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Italy, Hungary, the United States, Hong Kong SAR, Vietnam, Romania, India, Thailand, Poland and Austria, which together accounted for a further 37%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Vietnam (with a CAGR of +37.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate mild growth. In value terms, electronic chip imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last nine-year period.
