From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of fish fats and oils decreased by -27.5% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a slight setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 45%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, fish fat and oil imports reduced to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 53% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Mexico (X tons), Japan (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main suppliers of fish fat and oil imports to Switzerland, together comprising 55% of total imports. Canada, New Zealand, Germany, Norway, Peru and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 43%.
