China (X tons), Germany (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) were the main destinations of glass fibre mat exports from Switzerland, together comprising 89% of total exports. Poland, Slovakia and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 7%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Slovakia (with a CAGR of +64.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

After two years of growth, purchases abroad of glass fibre mats decreased by -15.2% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 44%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, glass fibre mat imports dropped to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 66% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Italy (X tons), Germany (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main suppliers of glass fibre mat imports to Switzerland, with a combined 90% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Italy (with a CAGR of +32.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
