The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 188%. Germany (X tons), France (X tons) and Austria (X tons) were the main destinations of self-adhesive paper exports from Switzerland, together accounting for 60% of total exports. The Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Belgium, the UK and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 29%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +49.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.

In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of self-adhesive paper and paperboard, when their volume increased by 25% to X tons. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 37%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

From 2017 to 2021, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while the price for Finland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
