The United Arab Emirates (X units) was the main destination for amplifier exports from Tanzania, with a 80% share of total exports. It was followed by Rwanda (X units), with a 1.8% share of total exports. Malawi (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 1.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United Arab Emirates stood at +36.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Rwanda (-10.4% per year) and Malawi (-10.4% per year).

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Burundi (+23.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Tanzania
In 2022, overseas purchases of amplifiers were finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a precipitous decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 86%. In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of amplifier to Tanzania, accounting for a 64% share of total imports. Moreover, amplifier imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X units), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), with a 5.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China amounted to -4.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (-9.1% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+23.7% per year).
