From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Malawi totaled +160.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Democratic Republic of the Congo (-42.3% per year) and Mozambique (-52.7% per year).

In value terms, Malawi ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for wood boxes, crates and cable drums exports from Tanzania, comprising 98% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Democratic Republic of the Congo ($X), with less than 0.1% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Malawi amounted to +243.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Democratic Republic of the Congo (-48.8% per year) and Mozambique (-55.4% per year).
