Imports by Country
In 2022, Zambia (X tons) constituted the largest yoghurt supplier to Tanzania, with a 73% share of total imports. Moreover, yoghurt imports from Zambia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the UK (X tons), sevenfold. Denmark (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 8.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Zambia stood at +50.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the UK (-16.6% per year) and Denmark (+7.7% per year).
In value terms, the largest yoghurt suppliers to Tanzania were Zambia ($X), the UK ($X) and Kenya ($X), together accounting for 94% of total imports.
Zambia, with a CAGR of +48.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kenya (+20.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
