In 2021, approx. X tons of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (abs) copolymers in primary forms were exported from Thailand; reducing by -14.5% against the year before. Over the period under review, total exports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -25.6% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 44% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, ABS copolymers imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, South Korea (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of ABS copolymers to Thailand, accounting for a 52% share of total imports.
