Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 2,075%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, artificial and colloidal graphite exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, showed a pronounced decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 289% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Myanmar (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) were the main destinations of artificial and colloidal graphite exports from Thailand, together accounting for 75% of total exports. Malaysia, Japan, China, Lao People's Democratic Republic and Singapore lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Lao People's Democratic Republic (with a CAGR of +181.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, imports continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, artificial and colloidal graphite imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

China (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) were the main suppliers of artificial and colloidal graphite imports to Thailand, with a combined 92% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the United Arab Emirates (with a CAGR of +157.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of artificial graphite, colloidal, semi-colloidal graphite and preparations to Thailand, comprising 43% of total imports.
