After two years of growth, shipments abroad of ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures decreased by -19.4% to X units in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 32%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, ceramic sanitary ware exports contracted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 53% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Cambodia (X units), Myanmar (X units) and the Philippines (X units) were the main destinations of ceramic sanitary ware exports from Thailand, with a combined 41% share of total exports. The United States, Australia, Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, New Zealand, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, China, Indonesia and India lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 52%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Singapore (with a CAGR of +5.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($X), Cambodia ($X) and the Philippines ($X) constituted the largest markets for ceramic sanitary ware exported from Thailand worldwide, together comprising 46% of total exports. Myanmar, Australia, Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, New Zealand, China, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Indonesia and India lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 55%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Singapore, with a CAGR of +4.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average ceramic sanitary ware export price amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 47%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Myanmar ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cambodia (+0.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Thailand
In 2022, imports of ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures into Thailand shrank dramatically to X units, with a decrease of -31.6% against 2021 figures. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 393% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2021, and then contracted markedly in the following year.
In value terms, ceramic sanitary ware imports shrank rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 540%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) was the main supplier of ceramic sanitary ware to Thailand, with a 538% share of total imports. Moreover, ceramic sanitary ware imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Vietnam (X units), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to +23.3%.
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures to Thailand, comprising 607% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with a 39% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China stood at +13.4%.

The average ceramic sanitary ware import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 30%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
