The Thai chandelier market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2022, after two years of decline. In general, consumption showed prominent growth. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
In value terms, chandelier exports dropped markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed slight growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 114% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
Exports by Country
The United States (X units) was the main destination for chandelier exports from Thailand, accounting for a 1,613% share of total exports. Moreover, chandelier exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Cambodia (X units), more than tenfold. Lao People's Democratic Republic (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 58% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States stood at +51.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Cambodia (+11.4% per year) and Lao People's Democratic Republic (-5.8% per year).
In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for chandeliers exports from Thailand, comprising 44% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Australia ($X), with a 6% share of total exports. It was followed by Vietnam, with a 3.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to the United States stood at +30.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Australia (-3.2% per year) and Vietnam (-3.4% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average chandelier export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, falling by -10.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 35%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit, and then reduced in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Gabon ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Oman (+26.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Thailand
In 2022, supplies from abroad of chandeliers was finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports enjoyed a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 55%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, chandelier imports reached $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +27.8% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 24%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, China (X units) was the main supplier of chandelier to Thailand, with a 130% share of total imports. It was followed by Malaysia (X units), with a 0.1% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China amounted to +2.1%.
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of chandeliers to Thailand, comprising 72% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Malaysia ($X), with a 0.1% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from China totaled +5.2%.
