Dolomite Market Size in Thailand

In 2021, the Thai dolomite market decreased by -24.8% to $X, falling for the second year in a row after four years of growth. In general, consumption recorded a noticeable decrease. In 2021, the amount of dolomite exported from Thailand surged to X tons, with an increase of 30% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 53% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, dolomite exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 25% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

Malaysia (X tons), Japan (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main destinations of dolomite exports from Thailand, with a combined 83% share of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese) and Indonesia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 17%.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 138%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, dolomite imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 569%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

Greece (X tons), Norway (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) were the main suppliers of dolomite imports to Thailand, with a combined 96% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Greece (with a CAGR of +49.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, Greece ($X) constituted the largest supplier of dolomite to Thailand, comprising 74% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Norway ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by South Korea, with a 2.5% share.
