Crude Granite Market Size in Thailand

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 276%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Maldives (X tons) was the main destination for crude granite exports from Thailand, accounting for a 99% share of total exports. It was followed by China (X kg), with a 0.1% share of total exports. The United States (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 0.1% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Maldives stood at -8.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (-69.5% per year) and the United States (-57.5% per year).

In value terms, Maldives ($X) remains the key foreign market for granite (crude) exports from Thailand, comprising 94% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 0.6% share of total exports. It was followed by the United States, with a 0.5% share.

Crude granite imports into Thailand soared to X tons in 2022, picking up by 19% against 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 202% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, crude granite imports shrank slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a pronounced decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 772%.
