In value terms, exports of internal combustion engines, excluding diesel (other than for motor vehicles and aircraft) soared to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a slight curtailment. Over the period under review, the exports of reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The United States (X tons) was the main destination for exports of internal combustion engines, excluding diesel (other than for motor vehicles and aircraft) from Thailand, with a 22% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of internal combustion engines, excluding diesel (other than for motor vehicles and aircraft) to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Japan (X tons), threefold. Finland (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 6.5% share.

Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 81% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In general, the import price saw a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 58%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
