Over the period under review, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of reached the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then declined rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, imports of other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses contracted to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then shrank in the following year.

The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
