Boiler Parts Market Size in Thailand

In 2021, the Thai boiler parts market decreased by -9% to $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, consumption, however, showed a mild descent. Over the period under review, the market reached the maximum level at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, boiler parts production shrank sharply to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the production volume increased by 59%. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X, and then fell notably in the following year.

Exports from Thailand

Boiler parts exports from Thailand contracted markedly to X tons in 2021, with a decrease of -77.5% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports faced a significant curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 170% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, boiler parts exports contracted markedly to $X in 2021. In general, exports recorded a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 704% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then contracted sharply in the following year.

Exports by Country

Poland (X tons) was the main destination for boiler parts exports from Thailand, with a 65% share of total exports. Moreover, boiler parts exports to Poland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Denmark (X tons), twofold.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Poland totaled +11.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Denmark (-26.1% per year) and the Netherlands (-15.1% per year).

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the key foreign market for parts of boilers for central heating exports from Thailand, comprising 74% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Denmark ($X), with a 21% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Poland stood at +17.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Denmark (-26.7% per year) and the Netherlands (-19.1% per year).

The average boiler parts export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, dropping by -57.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, enjoyed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 494% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2021, purchases abroad of parts of boilers for central heating increased by 133% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 326% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, boiler parts imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, faced a abrupt setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 204%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest boiler parts supplier to Thailand, with a 73% share of total imports. Moreover, boiler parts imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X tons), fourfold. Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.4% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at +26.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (-23.4% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+31.2% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of parts of boilers for central heating to Thailand, comprising 51% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by India ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China stood at +20.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (-21.8% per year) and Germany (+37.1% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average boiler parts import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 5.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average import price increased by 130%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2021, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+20.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
