From 2016 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the Philippines amounted to +411.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Vietnam (+318.3% per year) and Bangladesh (0.0% per year).

The average quinoa export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, declining by -60.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 24% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. In general, imports, however, showed significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 1,099% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then shrank markedly in the following year.
In value terms, quinoa imports dropped dramatically to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 1,552%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2020, and then plummeted in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Peru (X tons) constituted the largest quinoa supplier to Thailand, with a 87% share of total imports. Moreover, quinoa imports from Peru exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Bolivia (X tons), more than tenfold. Canada (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 2.8% share.
From 2013 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Peru amounted to +77.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Bolivia (+2.1% per year) and Canada (+223.4% per year).
In value terms, Peru ($X) constituted the largest supplier of quinoa to Thailand, comprising 81% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Bolivia ($X), with a 4.6% share of total imports. It was followed by Canada, with a 3.9% share.
From 2013 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Peru amounted to +45.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Bolivia (-10.7% per year) and Canada (+159.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average quinoa import price amounted to $X per ton, declining by -16.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a abrupt shrinkage.
