The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 301%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Indonesia (X tons), Myanmar (X tons) and Lao People's Democratic Republic (X tons) were the main destinations of sulphides, dithionites and sulphoxylates exports from Thailand, together comprising 85% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Indonesia (with a CAGR of +156.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Lao People's Democratic Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Thailand
In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of sulphides, polysulphides, dithionites and sulphoxylates, when their volume decreased by -8.3% to X tons. Overall, imports showed a slight downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 19%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, sulphides, dithionites and sulphoxylates imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 37%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of sulphides, dithionites and sulphoxylates to Thailand, accounting for a 83% share of total imports. Moreover, sulphides, dithionites and sulphoxylates imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X tons), more than tenfold. Germany (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+10.8% per year) and Germany (-8.4% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of sulphides, polysulphides, dithionites and sulphoxylates to Thailand, comprising 65% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($X), with a 9% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with an 8.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+13.8% per year) and Germany (-6.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average sulphides, dithionites and sulphoxylates import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 38% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
