In value terms, polycarbonate exports expanded slightly to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Germany (X tons), China (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of polycarbonate exports from the Netherlands, together comprising 38% of total exports. In value terms, polycarbonate imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 40%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Germany (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main suppliers of polycarbonate imports to the Netherlands, together accounting for 71% of total imports. The United States, Japan, Italy and Saudi Arabia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Saudi Arabia (with a CAGR of +142.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
