Tea Market Size in the Netherlands

Poland (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of tea exports from the Netherlands, together accounting for 40% of total exports. Spain, Belgium, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, France, Denmark, the UK, Switzerland and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 43%.

In 2022, the average tea export price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 2.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 55% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+13.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Netherlands
In 2022, imports of tea into the Netherlands shrank to X tons, dropping by -6.6% on the year before. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 30%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, tea imports dropped to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 29%. Imports peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Belgium (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of tea imports to the Netherlands, together comprising 48% of total imports.

Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the price for Argentina ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
