The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 109%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Qatar (X tons) was the main destination for crude palm oil exports from Tunisia, accounting for a approx. 100% share of total exports.

The average crude palm oil export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, waning by -3.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a slight descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 92%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Qatar.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Qatar amounted to -1.4% per year.

Imports into Tunisia
After eight years of decline, overseas purchases of crude palm oil increased by 10% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a pronounced contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 169% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, crude palm oil imports reduced to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 86% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Malaysia (X tons) constituted the largest crude palm oil supplier to Tunisia, with a 68% share of total imports. Moreover, crude palm oil imports from Malaysia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Indonesia (X tons), twofold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Malaysia stood at -6.3%.
In value terms, Malaysia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of crude palm oil to Tunisia, comprising 76% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Indonesia ($X), with a 23% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Malaysia amounted to +6.7%.
Import Prices by Country
The average crude palm oil import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -9.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average import price increased by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per ton), while the price for Indonesia totaled $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+13.9%).
