Nigeria (X units) was the main destination for exports of diesel engines (other than for motor vehicles and aircraft) from Tunisia, accounting for a 75% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of diesel engines (other than for motor vehicles and aircraft) to Nigeria exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Libya (X units), tenfold. In 2022, after four years of decline, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of diesel engines (other than for motor vehicles and aircraft), when their volume decreased by -27.8% to X units. Over the period under review, imports recorded a mild descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 273% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of reached the peak figure at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In general, the import price, however, saw modest growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 83%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per unit), while the price for Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
